Anna L. Patton has spent the last decade serving pre-college and collegiate students in higher education and community education settings. Anna completed her PhD in Educational Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and also holds a Master of Education from the University of Georgia in College Student Affairs Administration.
Anna's professional journey has included coaching, advocating, and teaching students from a wide range of educational pathways from middle and high school students interested in leadership skill development to college students declaring their major. Supported by a terminal degree in educational studies, Anna's work as an educator, in both the formal classroom and beyond, is grounded in critical pedagogy, experiential education, and an ethic of care for the whole student. Above all, Anna believes in the power of all students to be engaged, passionate partners in the learning experience.
Anna offers a content area expertise in topics such as curriculum design, diversity and inclusion education, student leadership development, and experiential education. Passionate about setting students up for success in authoring their own educational paths, Anna provides coaching on college fit advising, Common App management, college essay writing, and navigation through high school and beyond. As a social justice educator, Anna is passionate about developing equitable educational environments and relationships that support the development, success, and growth of all students. Anna offers services in both English and Spanish.
