Luz Villanueva, who is also known by her students as “Miss Lucy,” has a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and a Master of Science degree in Education. She also holds a North Carolina state teaching license.
As a native Spanish speaker, she loves sharing her language and culture through her lessons. Her teaching style is experiential and interactive, which means students learn Spanish while engaging with Latin American culture. Students learn about world history, art, music, and nature through books, educational games, acting scripts, and collaborative exercises.
Miss Lucy is also an academic coach and can help students who are struggling academically reach their full potential. During her free time, she enjoys playing with her two cats, hiking, practicing yoga, and listening to 90’s rock and country music.
