Spanish Academic Specialist and Coach
Luz Villanueva, known by her students as “Miss Lucy,” is a dedicated Spanish teacher and academic coach at Capital Educational Solutions. She is passionate about helping middle and high school students build confidence in language learning while strengthening their academic skills.

Miss Lucy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Ramapo College of New Jersey and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Edinburgh. She is also a licensed educator in North Carolina and has extensive experience teaching the Spanish language and ESL (English as a Second Language) to diverse learners.
As a native Spanish speaker, Miss Lucy brings authenticity and cultural depth to her Spanish instruction. Her teaching approach is interactive and experiential, helping students develop strong skills in Spanish conversation, reading, writing, grammar, and cultural understanding. Through engaging lessons that incorporate literature, educational games, collaborative activities, and cultural exploration, students learn Spanish while discovering connections to Latin American culture, history, art, and music.
Miss Lucy has experience teaching Spanish levels from beginner to AP Spanish, supporting students in both classroom and tutoring settings. She also works closely with students as an academic coach, helping them develop strategies for organization, study skills, and academic confidence so they can reach their full potential.
At Capital Educational Solutions, Miss Lucy supports students who are seeking Spanish tutoring, language enrichment, or academic coaching for middle school, high school and college success.
Outside the classroom, she enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, spending time with her two cats, and listening to 90s rock and country music.
